Potries (13/11/18).The “Secretario Autonómico de Salud y Sistema Sanitario Público”, Narcís Vázquez, has visited today the medical office of Potries that opened its doors on Monday, after the various improvements that have been made to its facilities, with funding from the “Conselleria de Sanidad”, where they have invested nearly 50,000 euros.

The works carried out by the City Council of Potries were to complete adaptation of facilities that have deteriorated over time and have consisted in enabling access for people with reduced mobility, changing the toilets, expanding the nursing room, renewing the electrical installations, air conditioning and lighting, among others.

The Mayor of Potries, Assumpta Domínguez, expressed her satisfaction “of some actions that respond to a claim made for a long time by the neighbors of Potries. That is why we have worked to get the involvement of the “Conselleria de Sanidad”, with the support of which we have achieved, for example to facilitate access to the largest or with motor difficulty, one of our priorities in public buildings during this legislature”.

The actions have allowed, in addition to adjusting the building to the current regulations so it respects the accessibility of public spaces, improving the spaces for medical care and services to current needs, given that the initial adaptation of the space dated from the 90’s.

Vázquez highlighted in his visit the fact that “once again it is demonstrated that, when the administrations agree and work in coordination, they manage to improve the lives of the citizens, and in this case, on such a fundamental issue as the primary health care. The results, as you can see are very gratifying. ”

The regional secretary (“Secretario Autonómica”) has already visited the facilities before the reform, and has been able to see firsthand the advantages that the expansion of the medical care spaces, the improvement of the habitability and the integral adaptation of the building have meant.

“We comply with this action, one of our objectives over the last few years, to improve the services provided to the neighbors of Potries, because we believe that by offering better services, we will make it easier for people to consider our town a good place to live, and have their needs met and in this way we actively fight against the depopulation of rural peoples, as is ours, and it is always gratifying that this struggle has the support of the regional administration” said the mayor at the end of the visit.
